Progress Over Perfection
A devotional for the woman who’s done letting perfect be the enemy of good
Scripture
“The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.” – Proverbs 21:5
Today’s Truth
You know what’s keeping you stuck? Not lack of skill. Not lack of resources. Not lack of opportunity.
It’s waiting for PERFECT.
The perfect time to launch. The perfect wording for that post. The perfect strategy for that proposal. The perfect everything before you move.
But here’s the truth: perfect doesn’t exist. And while you’re waiting for perfect, someone else is out here making PROGRESS. Messy progress. Imperfect progress. But PROGRESS.
That content you keep refining? POST IT. It doesn’t need to be perfect – it needs to be PUBLISHED. That business idea you keep tweaking? LAUNCH IT. Version 1.0 is better than version never. That proposal you’re polishing for the third time? SEND IT. Done is better than perfect. That conversation you’re rehearsing in your head? HAVE IT. Imperfect communication beats perfect silence.
God doesn’t need your perfect. He needs your OBEDIENT. He needs you to move with what you have, not wait until you have it all figured out.
Every successful person you admire? They started before they were ready. They launched before it was perfect. They posted when they were still learning. They built in public. They failed forward. They chose PROGRESS over PERFECTION.
And that’s how they got HERE – not by waiting for perfect, but by DOING imperfectly and learning along the way.
Your Moment
Today, do the thing you’ve been putting off because it’s not “ready yet.”
Post that content even though it’s not your best work. Launch that offer even though you don’t have all the details figured out. Send that email even though the wording isn’t perfect. Start that project even though you’re still learning.
Messy action beats perfect inaction EVERY TIME.
You can edit a bad draft. You can’t edit a blank page. You can improve version 1.0. You can’t improve something that doesn’t exist.
Stop waiting for perfect. Start making PROGRESS.
Prayer
God, help me let go of perfectionism and embrace progress. Give me the courage to move before I’m ready, to launch before it’s perfect, to post before I have it all figured out. Remind me that You work through my obedience, not my perfection. Let me be a woman of ACTION, not just intention. I’m choosing progress over perfection, movement over waiting, done over perfect. Let’s GO. Amen.
Done is better than perfect. Messy action beats perfect inaction. Make progress today.
