Gods Timing vs Your Timeline

God’s Timing vs Your Timeline

A devotional for the woman who’s learning to trust the process

Scripture

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” – Isaiah 55:8-9
Today’s Truth

You had a PLAN. You mapped out the timeline. You set the goals. You did the work. You checked all the boxes.
And yet… the breakthrough isn’t here yet. The contract hasn’t closed. The revenue goal isn’t hit. The doors you thought would open are still closed. The thing you thought would happen by now? Still waiting.
And it’s FRUSTRATING. Because you’re doing everything right. You’re being faithful. You’re showing up. You’re working hard. You’re praying. You’re believing.
But here’s what you need to remember: YOUR TIMELINE IS NOT GOD’S TIMELINE.
Your plan said this year. God’s plan might say next year. Your plan said this month. God’s plan might be building something in you that requires this season. Your plan said RIGHT NOW. God’s plan might be orchestrating pieces you can’t even see yet.
And I know that’s hard to hear when you’re ready NOW. When you’ve been patient. When you’ve been faithful. When you’ve been doing the work.
But God’s delays are not God’s denials. His “not yet” doesn’t mean “not ever.” His timeline isn’t slower than yours – it’s BETTER than yours. Because He sees what you don’t see. He knows what you don’t know. He’s preparing what you can’t prepare.
The thing you’re waiting for? It’s coming. But it’s coming on HIS timeline, not yours. And when it arrives, you’ll understand why it had to wait.

Your Moment

Today, release your timeline. Not your vision – keep that. Not your goals – keep working toward those. But release the WHEN.
Stop being frustrated that it hasn’t happened yet. Stop comparing your timeline to someone else’s. Stop questioning God’s timing because it doesn’t match your plan.
Trust that He’s working. Trust that the delay has purpose. Trust that when it arrives, it will be WORTH the wait.
Your job is faithfulness. His job is timing. Stay faithful. Let Him handle the when.

Prayer

God, I confess – I’ve been frustrated with Your timing. I’ve been impatient. I’ve been questioning why it’s taking so long. Help me release MY timeline and trust YOURS. Remind me that Your delays are not denials, and Your timing is always perfect. Give me peace in the waiting, faith in the process, and trust that You’re working even when I can’t see it. I’m letting go of the WHEN and holding onto the WHO – You. Your timing is perfect. I trust You. Amen.
God’s timing is not your timeline. And His timing is always better. Trust the process.
