A devotional for the woman who knows how to cross the finish line
Scripture
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” – 2 Timothy 4:7
Today’s Truth
You know what’s easy? STARTING.
Starting is exciting. Starting is full of possibility. Starting gets the likes, the encouragement, the “you go girl!” comments. Everyone loves a good beginning.
But you know what’s RARE? FINISHING.
Finishing is hard. Finishing is when the excitement wears off and all that’s left is discipline. Finishing is when nobody’s watching anymore and you have to show up anyway. Finishing is when it gets boring, tedious, frustrating, and you have to push through.
Most people are great starters. They have vision boards and business plans and big announcements. But when it comes time to DO THE WORK – the unglamorous, repetitive, sometimes boring work of FINISHING – they’re gone.
But not you.
You’re not just a starter. You’re a FINISHER. You don’t just launch things – you COMPLETE them. You don’t just start proposals – you SUBMIT them. You don’t just plan strategies – you EXECUTE them. You don’t just talk about building – you actually BUILD.
And that’s what separates you from the crowd. Because starters are everywhere. But finishers? Finishers are RARE. And rare is VALUABLE.
Paul didn’t say “I started the good fight.” He said “I FINISHED the race.” That’s what matters. Not what you START. What you FINISH.
Your Moment
Today, look at what you’ve STARTED that needs to be FINISHED. That proposal sitting in drafts? Finish it. That strategy you’ve been refining forever? Execute it. That conversation you’ve been putting off? Have it. That project at 90%? Push it to 100%.
The breakthrough you’re waiting for might be sitting in something you STARTED but haven’t FINISHED. Stop starting new things and COMPLETE what’s already in motion.
Because finishers win. Starters just get participation trophies.
Be the finisher.
Prayer
God, give me the endurance to FINISH what I start. Help me push through when it gets hard, boring, or frustrating. Let me be known not for how many things I BEGIN, but for how many things I COMPLETE. Remove distractions that keep me from finishing. Give me focus, discipline, and determination to cross the finish line. I’m not just a starter. I’m a FINISHER. Amen.
Starters are everywhere. Be a finisher. That’s where the win is. 🏁💪✨
