Your Hunger Is Holy

Your Hunger is Holy

A devotional for the woman who’s been told she wants too much

Scripture

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” – Matthew 5:6
Today’s Truth

Someone told you that you want too much. That you should be satisfied with where you are. That your ambition is a character flaw, your drive is a warning sign, your refusal to settle is something to be managed rather than celebrated.
They were wrong.
Your hunger isn’t a problem to fix. It’s a GIFT to steward. That relentless drive in you – the one that wakes you up before the alarm, that keeps you building when others have gone to bed, that refuses to accept “this is as good as it gets” – that didn’t come from your ego. It came from God.
He’s the one who put that vision in you. He’s the one who designed you with the capacity to see more than what currently exists. He’s the one who planted the hunger that makes you uncomfortable with staying small. And He doesn’t plant desires He has no intention of filling.
The hunger isn’t the issue. WHAT you’re hungry for is the question. Hungry for significance? That leads to striving that empties you. Hungry for impact? That leads to purpose that fills you. Hungry for validation? That leads to performance that exhausts you. Hungry for what God actually called you to? That leads to the fulfillment that Jesus promised – not empty ambition, but deep, abiding satisfaction in building what you were actually created to build.
You weren’t made to be small, settled, and satisfied with less than what God designed you for. That hunger stirring in you right now? That’s not greed. That’s not ingratitude. That’s the sound of a woman operating exactly as God designed.

Your Moment

Today, stop apologizing for wanting more. Stop shrinking your goals to fit someone else’s comfort level. Stop performing contentment you don’t actually feel while God’s invitation to MORE is sitting right in front of you.
Get honest about what you’re hungry for. Make sure it’s the right things. Then chase it without apology.
Your hunger is holy when it’s directed at what God called you to build.

Prayer

God, thank You for the hunger You put in me. Purify it – make sure I’m hungry for what You called me to and not just what feeds my ego. Then give me the courage to chase it without shrinking and without apology. Fill me with everything You designed this hunger for. I refuse to settle for less than what You actually planned for me. Amen.
Your hunger is holy. Stop apologizing for it. Chase what God put in you without shame.
