God Sees What You Do In The Dark

God Sees What You Do in the Dark

A devotional for the woman whose best work happens when nobody’s watching

Scripture

“Your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” – Matthew 6:4
Today’s Truth

Nobody saw the 5am morning you chose the work over the sleep. Nobody liked the post you didn’t post because it wasn’t ready yet. Nobody applauded the boundary you held in private that protected your family. Nobody retweeted the prayer you prayed over your business at your kitchen table before the house woke up.
But God saw it.
And here’s what makes that matter more than any public win: God doesn’t just SEE what you do in secret. He REWARDS it. Not just notices it. Not just appreciates it. He rewards the hidden faithfulness with a return that the public moments can’t produce on their own.
This means the work you’re doing right now that feels invisible – the early mornings, the late nights, the quiet disciplines, the private integrity, the decisions you make when the audience isn’t watching – all of it is being recorded in a ledger you can’t see yet. Every act of faithfulness in the dark is building a reward that will eventually show up in the light.
The woman who only performs when people are watching will always be limited by her audience. But the woman who gives her best whether the room is full or empty? She’s building something that compounds in ways the crowd can’t measure. Because God is her audience. And He never misses a thing.
Your private faithfulness is your most powerful asset. More than your public platform. More than your following. More than your highlight reel. What you do when nobody’s watching is what tells God – and yourself – what you’re actually made of.

Your Moment

Today, do something excellent that nobody will see. Not for the gram. Not for the caption. Not for the testimony later.
Just do it because God sees. Because your character is being built in the quiet. Because the reward for hidden faithfulness is real, even when it hasn’t shown up yet.
Do the work in the dark. The light is coming.

Prayer

God, thank You for seeing what nobody else sees. Thank You for the private faithfulness You’ve witnessed that will never make a highlight reel. Help me keep showing up in the dark – in the early mornings, the late nights, the unwitnessed moments of integrity and discipline. I trust that You see it all, and that Your reward is worth more than any public applause. Amen.
God sees what you do in the dark. Keep showing up there. The reward is coming.
