A devotional for the woman who’s been thinking too small for too long

Scripture

“Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.” – Isaiah 54:2
Today’s Truth

God isn’t asking you to maintain what you have. He’s asking you to ENLARGE it.
Stretch your tent curtains wide. Don’t hold back. That’s not a suggestion – it’s a command. And it’s a command that requires you to think bigger than your current capacity, plan beyond your current resources, and believe beyond your current evidence.
Here’s the problem: most people build a tent the size of their current faith. They stretch it just enough to cover what they can already see, what they can already afford, what they can already imagine without too much discomfort. And then they stop. They settle into “this is enough” before God ever said it was.
But God said ENLARGE. Stretch WIDE. Don’t HOLD BACK.
Lengthen the cords – meaning extend your reach further than feels comfortable. Strengthen the stakes – meaning build your foundation strong enough to support the expansion you’re believing for.
This isn’t about reckless ambition or building something you can’t sustain. It’s about refusing to let SMALL THINKING cap what God wants to do through you. It’s about praying bigger prayers, setting bigger goals, and building bigger vision than what feels “realistic” by your current standards – because God’s economy doesn’t operate by your current limitations.
Your business plan might need to be bigger. Your financial goals might need to be bigger. Your vision for your family’s legacy might need to be bigger. Your prayers might need to be bigger.
Because a small tent can only hold so much. And God’s trying to bring you more than your current tent can contain.

Your Moment

Today, examine your tent. Is it sized to your current comfort or to God’s actual capacity for you?
Enlarge your vision. Stretch your goals. Don’t hold back out of fear of disappointment or fear of looking foolish for believing big. Strengthen your foundation – your faith, your habits, your discipline – so it can support the expansion that’s coming.
Stop building small. God said ENLARGE. So enlarge.

Prayer

God, forgive me for building a tent sized to my comfort instead of Your capacity. Help me enlarge my vision, stretch my faith, and stop holding back out of fear. Strengthen my foundation so I can sustain the expansion You have for me. I’m not settling for small thinking anymore. I’m stretching wide, lengthening my reach, and believing You for more than feels comfortable. Enlarge me, God. I’m ready. Amen.
Don’t hold back. Enlarge your tent. God’s bringing more than your current vision can contain.
